@rem @addyosmani if el is not ref in second handler, the cleanup depends on the scope of el. If the var el goes out of scope, gc ll happen
@rem @addyosmani in the example, because of closure JS obj el will not be gc’ed. Event listeners will also remain.
@rem @addyosmani 2/2 will also stay in memory as long as the native DOM obj is not cleaned up by GC. Correct me if I m wrong though

@rem @addyosmani If you have a JavaScript proxy obj referencing the removed DOM node, the event listeners will not be removed.
